What's happening: On March 24th students and families filled Smith School’s gymnasium for this year’s Smith School STEM Showcase.
Whether students were presenting individual or small group projects, demonstrating highly skilled robots, or sharing in the work they’ve done as a part of their club this year, the STEM Showcase stands out as a highlight of the academic year.
The event served as a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity and knowledge in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Why it matters: The event does more than just highlight the depth and breadth of our students’ achievements; it underscores our fundamental commitment to fostering a dynamic, future-ready learning environment. When our students engage in hands-on experiences and high-level problem solving, they’re learning deeply and pushing themselves to achieve.
A new highlight: This year, students had the opportunity to submit their own project proposals, which they could choose to complete individually or in small groups.
Students conducted fantastic experiments and studies, and then proudly presented their findings at the Showcase!

Crowd Favorite: Attendees loved seeing the robots created by our teams attempt this year’s First Tech Challenge of throwing balls into a container.
Special thanks to the teachers who guided students and facilitated the event: Mr. Truppi, Mr. Poage, Mr. Quinlan, Mr. Frisch, and Mrs. Aujero. Thanks also to our administrators for their leadership: Mr. Veit, Mrs. Falcone, Dr. Esdale, and Dr. Rejent.
