Profile of a Ramsey Graduate
Ramsey curriculum uses core academic content as a foundation to forge "durable skills" essential for a rapidly changing world. By the time our students graduate, they have mastered a comprehensive suite of competencies designed to last a lifetime:
The 4 C’s: Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, and Creativity.
Personal Attributes: Responsibility, Self-Direction, and a growth-oriented Academic Mindset.
Interpersonal Skills: Empathy and Adaptability.
Habits of Mind: Continuous Reflection.
Why It Matters
From the first day of Preschool to the final walk across the stage, every step of the Ramsey journey is intentional. We prioritize these competencies because they are future-proof. While technology and industries evolve, the need for empathetic leaders who can adapt and think critically remains constant. Regardless of the path our graduates choose, they leave us equipped with the intellectual and emotional fortitude to thrive in any environment the future holds.
Our Approach in Action
We intentionally implement backwards design for subject curricula and for our entire student experience. We plan first from the end goal, and work backwards from there. This encompasses 3 stages:
Identifying Our Desired Results: we explicitly state what a diploma from Ramsey School District means.
Determining Acceptable Evidence: we plan opportunities for students to demonstrate and show proof of progress in our Profile Competencies.
Planning Experiences: we ask ourselves, what does a student need to do in order to learn how to develop in the competencies?
Go deeper: Below you will find information specific to all of our Competencies, Performance Areas, and the Profile Projects we use to assess our students' progress in these areas.
