What's happening: This past week, we were thrilled to have Mrs. Glebocki (Dater Principal), Mrs. Linzenbold (Hubbard Principal), and Mrs. Hicks (Dater Dean of Students) dedicate two days to professional growth at the RULER Conference on the campus of Yale University.
While the RULER approach has been a valuable part of Ramsey School District for nearly a decade, this was a fantastic opportunity for these key administrators and staff members to attend the formal training.
Why it matters: Learning from the founder of RULER and engaging with successful school partners from across the nation provides our leaders with invaluable, first-hand knowledge. This intensive experience empowers our principals to more deeply and effectively integrate these vital social-emotional learning practices at Dater and Hubbard Schools, ensuring our students continue to benefit from the best possible approach.
What theyβre saying: βWe were excited to connect with our school counselors and all staff upon returning from the RULER conference. Not only did we walk away with a clearer vision for schoolwide practice with the RULER approach, but the mutual benefit for the adults in our community is an added bonus. Our students are very familiar with the βMood meter,β but putting into regular practice the work of the βMeta Momentβ will help everyone in our community to be their βbest self.β - Jen Glebocki and Stacey Linzenbold.
The bottom line: The RULER approach is the foundation of social-emotional learning in our elementary schools, benefiting both students and staff.
