Talk about a garden glow-up! π± Ms. Diakos's and Mr. Clark's S.T.E.P. students from RHS teamed up with Ms. Diaz to give the Hubbard School garden some very much needed TLC! They're putting their homemade weed killer to the ultimate test, clearing the way for a year of hands-on learning with their Hubbard friends. This week, Honors Chemistry students investigated density. Students predicted how substances would layer in a cup, analyzed numerical data, and experimented by actually layering the unknown substances in a cup. After experimenting, they worked to model what the particles looked like in each substance to truly understand the science behind density. π§ͺ

CP Chemistry students kicked off the year with a Reaction in a Bag Lab! During this lab, students worked to distinguish between qualitative and quantitative observations and analyzed their data to determine if mass is conserved in a chemical reaction. Their conclusion: it is! βοΈ

Mrs. Shahinian's English I classes are being introduced to all of the cool spaces in the media center through Mrs. Wohlrab's enthusiastic orientation! An added bonus was a visit from Brody, our school therapy dog who brightened everyone's day!

π πBoth CP and AP physics have started their first labs of the year.! CP Physics is completing a Motion of the Cars lab where they are collecting displacement and time data to create Position vs Time graphs; AP students are working with vernier motion sensors to calculate the velocity and acceleration of a ball rolling down an angled ramp.

Students in Mrs. Leschak's AP Environmental Science class used Oreos to visualize the dynamic movement of the Earth's crust. They had to collaborate with their peers to model each boundary and discuss where and how these geological processes occur on the Earth! π π₯Ό
