Happy Halloween from Hubbard 🎃

Hubbard School Pride Day tomorrow!

Students were brimming with excitement over their invitation to Lunch Bunch with Mrs. Linden, Hubbard’s school counselor! This special gathering offers a wonderful chance for students to connect with friends from other classes in a cozy, small-group setting.

1-B got together with our buddies in 3-Li for a writing celebration! 🎉 Students were so excited to share their published writing from our first unit of writing 📝

Mrs. Crispino, our dedicated instructional coach, in action! She's been collaborating closely with third grade teachers, bringing fresh ideas and strategies to enhance learning and support student growth. We're so grateful for her enthusiasm to support both students and teachers.

Mrs. Shand’s class was caught cozying up with a good book after gym! There’s nothing like winding down with a story.

Authentic writing spotted in the hallways of Hubbard! Students in 1-Berland wrote out their own classroom rules, taking ownership of their learning environment. This is important because it helps them understand responsibility, respect, and the value of clear communication.

Hubbard PTO Meeting - 9:15AM tomorrow!

Students are mastering geometry skills through hands-on exploration by composing new shapes while using 2-D plane shapes!

Star Books are a tool to increase kindergartners' confidence in reading, their comprehension, their vocabulary, their story sense, their oral language, and their retelling skills. The books have strong characters and a great plot that can be retold by students. Three Billy Goat Gruffs (a.k.a.stuffies brought from home on PJ Day) provided an opportunity for students to retell this weeks story in a fun and creative way.

Students brought in 1-20 items from home for their classmates to use to answer the questions, "How many?" and "How do you know?" Students selected baggies, counted the items by using the ten frame format strategy and then documented the amount of items in their Counting Jar Booklets.

3Lee has strong partnership practices which is helping to lift the level of student thinking about character. Not only are students naming character traits but they are also sharing what in the text serves as evidence of their thinking. Reading rockstars!

Leave it to Ms. Gravalis to make physical education exciting. Jumping, balancing, and moving through obstacles, our students are building agility, strength, and confidence.

We are readers...here, there and everywhere! This week we have read our Star Books & Look Books in the classroom and in the courtyard. We read independently, with a partner and enjoyed listening to an extra special guest reader share a Perfect story with us. Reading ROCKS!

Mathematicians in Mrs. Shand's Kindergarten class are making use of their math tools strategically. Actively engaged, students uncover "longer" or "shorter" lengths of objects using a direct comparison of a ten-cube tower.

(Part two) Thank you to the Ramsey Police Department, B&G Bagels, and our amazing volunteers for helping our third graders ride safely at today’s Bike Rodeo!

(Part 1) HU 3rd graders are mastering bike safety at our Bike Rodeo—building confidence and skills for the road ahead!

WIN time at Hubbard - all hands on deck!

HU 2nd graders take on the Meadowlands Environmental Center! Exploring nature, discovering new things, and learning about the environment firsthand—what an adventure! As marsh explorers, they connected their classroom learning about landforms to the real world, making this a fun and hands-on experience.

Kindergarteners in K-Cammarata are hard at work during dictation! This multisensory approach helps students strengthen their phonemic awareness, letter-sound correspondence, and spelling skills. By practicing letter formation and sound blending, they are building a strong foundation for reading and writing success ✏️.
