Silly Pennies at Hubbard School. We are having a great time learning about money while enjoying friendly competition too. We are sorting our silver coins from our cooper ones. Shout out to our second grade friends who count and track the points each day.

βMeasuring in first grade: where cubes, inch tiles, and paperclips become tools of discovery! Watching little minds explore length is a reminder that learning is all about curiosity and creativity. π

3-D Shapes are awesome! K-Col students enjoyed learning about, exploring, touching, searching for and locating 3-D shaped items throughout our classroom. True hands-on learning.

Silly Pennies Week starts TODAY! Gather those coins and bills in support of the Hubbard PTO. All proceeds will benefit the Hubbard PTO.

Puppet play encourages preschoolers to use their imagination, develop creative and cognitive skills, and explore language in a fun and engaging way! Itβs a great opportunity for them to express themselves, practice problem-solving, and expand their vocabularyβall while having fun with their new puppet friends.

βLet me show you what acceptance is. One person can be sitting, the other standing, and itβs different, but we are still friends.β These thoughtful words from two of our preschoolers perfectly capture the essence of acceptance. This month, HU students are embracing acceptance by learning that no matter our differences, we can still support and care for one another. Itβs wonderful to see our youngest of learners practice kindness and understanding every day! π

Todayβs assembly was a blast as students explored the exciting world of STEAM through hands-on exploration. A huge thank you to the PTO and volunteers for making this amazing experience possible. Students were fully engaged as they learned about science, technology, engineering, arts, and math, sparking curiosity and creativity. We appreciate all the support that helps bring such incredible opportunities to Hubbard ππ

"Look, I made pink!"
"We are scientists!"
"I added a stick to support it."
"I didnβt know this would stay!"
"I mixed the tissue paper and glue to make different colors!"
Through their observations and discoveries, these young learners are building a deeper understanding of the world around them!

Ramsey honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a champion of education, equality, and nonviolent change.
"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." -Dr. King

HU 3rd graders learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and drew inspiration from his speech, thinking about their own dreams for making the world a better place. Answers like "Love everyone for who they are" reflect not only his powerful message but also this monthβs character trait of acceptance. Simple but powerful responses like "Sharing smiles" remind us that small steps can lead to big changes in our communities!

A spectacular way to end the Friday with special visits from the therapy dogs! Our students were filled with joy and warmth, making it a truly memorable day.

You can always count on Mrs. Frank for an engaging read-aloud! This time, students are diving into stories about different cultures, learning about the rich diversity of traditions and experiences from around the world. A great way to spark curiosity and empathy in our young learners.

Students in 3-Jordan are immersed in researching other cultures while creating presentations that thoughtfully consider their audience. This project encourages them to not only explore the diverse customs, traditions, and histories of different cultures but also to communicate their findings in a way that engages and informs others. Itβs a wonderful opportunity for students to develop both their research and presentation skills!

Therapy dogs visited Hubbard School, and preschool to third-grade students were filled with joy, excitement, and lots of smiles! These furry friends brought a sense of calm and comfort to our school, and it was a heartwarming experience for everyone. A big thank you to the therapy dogs and their handlers for spreading happiness and positivity throughout our halls! πΆ πΎ

Third graders are actively exploring the concept of perimeter through hands-on measurement activities. By measuring objects around the room and calculating the perimeter of irregular shapes, students are developing their spatial awareness and applying mathematical reasoning to real-world contexts. This activity fosters critical thinking and strengthens their understanding of geometric concepts and measurement strategies.

Third graders participated in a grand conversation after reading Watercress by Andrea Wang. This is an important activity because it allows students to engage deeply with the text, discuss themes like family, culture, and gratitude, and practice critical thinking skills. By sharing their thoughts, students also develop communication skills, learn to listen to othersβ perspectives, and gain a deeper understanding of the story and its message.
