Mrs. Finnegan’s class took ownership of their learning in the best way! After enjoying math problems of the day that featured their classmates’ names, students were inspired to write their own short stories to be turned into future math problems. What a fun and engaging way to kick off math each day—building excitement, ownership, and real-life connections!

Students in 3-Lajam are hard at work on their Profile Projects! Some groups even created graphs to share their findings—making real-world connections to their recent math unit on data and graphing. We love seeing our third graders apply their learning in meaningful ways!

Time flies when you’re a Ram! Two Ramsey High School seniors stopped by to help at Spring Fest and ran into a familiar face—Mrs. Pina, former Hubbard principal and now Director of Elementary Education. From elementary to graduation, moments like this remind us of the lasting impact educators have on their students—and the special journey that begins right here at Hubbard School.

(Part three) A huge thank you to our incredible PTO and volunteers for making this event so special. Spring Fest 2025 is one we won’t forget! Go Rams!! 💙💛🌷

We love how Spring Fest brought us all together—former students, current students, and future students. Hubbard is, and will always be, home. 💙💛

Our third graders got a special “early look” at Spring Fest during the end of the school day! Thank you to our amazing PTO for giving them this fun opportunity to explore and celebrate together before the big event kicked off!

One third grader’s Profile Project involves shadowing Mrs. Reid’s preschool class to observe how the environment supports learning. From real and faux plants to natural materials and earthy tones like brown, green, and blue, students noticed how every element is intentionally chosen. Students even observed how different lighting creates shadows and perspective—just like in nature—offering calm, curiosity, and connection in the classroom. What a beautiful way to connect the outside world to the inside world!

Students in 1-Berland have launched their new Character Clubs unit in reading! Students are learning to talk and think more deeply about characters—what they say, do, and feel—and how those traits help us understand the story. We can’t wait to see their thinking grow as they read and discuss in their book clubs!

Families are in for a real treat tomorrow! Our first and second graders have been working hard and can’t wait to take the stage for the Spring Sing. Get ready for a performance filled with joy, heart, and music!

Third graders are hard at work brainstorming and working to put their Profile Projects together. Stay tuned—these projects are a true celebration of all they’ve learned!

After four days of NJSLA testing, our third graders are powering through with perseverance and pride! One of the many reasons we love our Hubbard home—our kindergartners wrote heartfelt cards of encouragement to lift their spirits and cheer them on. 💙🐏💛 Moments like this remind us how strong our school community truly is!

Before the bell rang, our staff got a special start to their Friday with a cozy morning of creativity and connection! Teachers spent time a few minutes with author and illustrator Maddie Frost, enjoying delicious treats. What a joyful way to kick off the day.

Students were excited to get their books signed by Maddie Frost!

Our second and third graders were inspired by today’s visit from Maddie Frost—author, illustrator, and creative storyteller! Maddie gave students a behind-the-scenes look at how she builds stories and characters using imagination, collage-style art, and lots of persistence. With titles like Bear in a Bathrobe and The Shared Space, she encouraged students to take risks, stay curious, and have fun with their writing. Maddie exudes confidence and brings so much fun to her presentations—she had every student completely engaged from start to finish! What a perfect way to wrap up a Friday during Teacher Appreciation Week. A huge thank you to our amazing PTO for bringing this special author visit to life!

Storytime magic came to life today as our youngest learners enjoyed a fun and engaging visit from author and illustrator Maddie Frost! Known for books like Wakey Birds and Once Upon a Zzzz, Maddie’s playful storytelling and vibrant illustrations had our preschoolers, kindergarteners, and first graders laughing, wondering, and excited to read more. She shared how she uses shapes, texture, and color to bring her characters to life—and reminded us that every big idea starts with a little sketch!
