When students win a math challenge and choose to celebrate by having lunch with their third grade teacher, it’s about so much more than getting the answers right. It reflects their perseverance, problem solving, and the confidence they are building along the way. Moments like this matter because they build connection, strengthen our classroom community, and remind students that their effort and growth truly count. It’s in these small celebrations that students feel proud, valued, and motivated to keep challenging themselves! 🤭

Where play meets learning and curiosity leads the way 🌿

Happy Friday! What a special way to celebrate our School Pride recipients for the month of March, recognized for their independence and the ways they continue to rise each day. This morning, we also spent time as a school learning about self control. We practiced it in three different ways and even tried a fun challenge with bubbles, where students had to stay in their spots and let them fall and pop on their own. Self control is a skill that grows with practice, and today was a great reminder that even small moments can help us build it together 💙💛

Writers in Mrs. Shand’s kindergarten class are building excitement for their upcoming opinion writing unit, A Study in Expression, by generating ideas about their likes and dislikes. Throughout our new unit, K-Shand writers will refer to these organizers to guide and develop their writing.✏️🗒️

Part 2: Experiences like this truly bring learning to life and allow students to explore new ways of thinking and creating. A huge thank you to our PTO for making this day possible. We are so grateful for your continued support of our students and school community. 💙💛✨

Part 1: What an incredible Fine Arts Day. Our students had the opportunity to learn from real artists and creators across so many different mediums, from stop motion animation to costume design, puppetry, clay modeling, and printmaking. It was amazing to see their creativity come to life and their excitement throughout each experience.

K-mathematicians used attribute blocks or buttons to practice sorting and classifying objects and data. Students worked collaboratively to identify items that share an attribute: color, size, shape, for buttons-number of holes, material object is made of, etc, and say what that attribute is.

Third graders were so excited to be back and ready to grow! After Spring break, we launched math by working together to solve different math problems, using communication, collaboration, and critical thinking along the way. Students built on skills they have been practicing all year, stretched their thinking, and supported one another. It was a great reminder that math is powerful when we learn and grow as a team!

Students in K-Coleman are excited to be together again because being with friends is one of the BEST parts of coming back from Spring Break!

Our preschoolers came back from spring break ready to collaborate, explore, and get their hands in the soil 🌱 As we begin planting in the Hubbard School garden, we are leaning into a Reggio inspired approach, following their curiosity, honoring their ideas, and growing learning right alongside our plants. We cannot wait to see what blooms this season, both in our garden and in our learners 💚

We are SO back 🙌 Welcome home, Hubbard School! Feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready to make these last few months count. Let’s keep the energy high, support each other, and finish the year stronger than ever. 💙💛

Learning came to life when a student brought in a monarch butterfly chrysalis that her grandma found 🦋 It was a wonderful way to connect home and school while inspiring curiosity and a sense of wonder.

Para bailar La Bamba, se necesita una poca de gracia… and our third graders had plenty of it!! 🤭 They put on a beautiful Celebration of Cultures show filled with joy, pride, and heart. It is hard to believe this was their last concert at Hubbard as third graders. Thank you to Ms. McDonald for giving our students the chance to shine and for helping create such a special memory through music.🎼💙💛💐

Our HU third grade parents are in for such a special treat tomorrow. Today’s school performance was just the beginning, and our third graders cannot wait to take the stage again and perform their hearts out for their families 🫶🏻

Today is World Down Syndrome Day!

We recognize this day as a global awareness day that is celebrated on the 21st day of the 3rd month of the year. This is to signify the triplication (trimosy) of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. 🐏 ❤
