Mrs. Crispino and Mrs. Fiedeldey, our incredible instructional coaches, work tirelessly behind the scenes to collaborate and share innovative ideas with one another. Recently, our third grade teachers brought one of those ideas to life—applying a strategy from the coaches to support book clubs. Now, students set purposeful goals before meeting with their groups, whether it’s writing a summary, diving into character study, or focusing on a specific reading strategy. At Hubbard, our character trait of the month is perseverance—pushing through even when something feels tricky. One of our youngest learners reminded us that sometimes the biggest growth comes from the smallest victories. 💪✨ Learning to button up a new coat might seem simple, but it took patience, practice, and determination. Our third grade families are in for a treat! Students are wrapping up their final rehearsals for the upcoming Celebration of Cultures show. Not only does this performance align with Unit 3 in reading and writing—Culture, Curiosity, and Research—but it also beautifully bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world connection, showcasing the rich stories and traditions that shape who we are. 🌍💫
Students in Mrs. Weiss’s class were on the move today—literally! They practiced measuring their jumps using inches, feet, and yards, turning math into a fun and active learning experience.
In Mrs. Chantaski’s first grade class, morning meeting is more than just a routine—it’s a thoughtful way to start the day and build a strong classroom community. Students use the Mood Meter to express how they’re feeling with words like “ecstatic” or “a bit worried,” helping them develop emotional awareness and self-reflection. Most importantly, this daily practice creates a safe and supportive space where students feel seen, heard, and valued. When children feel safe to share, they’re more ready to learn, grow, and support one another.
First graders took on the Newark Museum with wide eyes and curious minds! From art to science, they explored, discovered, and soaked in every moment of wonder. What a memorable adventure!

Yesterday’s beautiful weather was perfect for some outdoor PE fun! Students enjoyed the fresh air while staying active and engaged in movement.
Mrs. Reid’s preschool class embraces the Reggio-inspired approach by documenting students’ thoughts and creations, making their learning visible within the classroom. By scribing their words and displaying their work, students see their ideas honored and valued, fostering a sense of ownership and pride. Loose parts play further encourages creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration—turning everyday materials into meaningful exploration!
Kindergarten students in Señor Becker’s Spanish class are reviewing their assessment on body parts and numbers vocabulary. As they check their answers, they are reinforcing their learning by blending both units, building confidence in their Spanish skills, and making meaningful connections between words and numbers!
Check out this center in Mrs. Zuccala's class! Preschool students are diving into discovery at their science center! This bird-themed exploration station allows them to observe, build, and learn about different species, their habitats, and how to care for nature—all through hands-on play and observation. What a perfect way as we begin to welcome Spring! 🌷
