The Tisdale Book Fair theme reminded us that "Reading Takes You Everywhere"! šāļø Students had a wonderful week exploring new books, celebrating our fun theme days, and discovering stories that can take them anywhere their imaginations lead. A huge thank you to our amazing Media Specialist, Mrs. Calabrese, the Tisdale PTO, and all of our volunteers for making this event possible and helping get great books into the hands of our young readers! šš
Tisdale was proud to recognize our amazing social worker, Mrs. Lisa Moment, last week during National School Social Work Week! šāØ Mrs. Moment supports our students by helping them navigate feelings, build friendships, solve problems, and grow in confidence. Because of her care and guidance, Tisdale is a kinder, calmer, and happier place for everyone. Thank you, Mrs. Moment, for always being there for our Rams! š
āItās the best day of the month at Tisdale... All School Sing day! š¶š We came together as a school community to celebrate, sing, and recognize classmates who received awards. Our kindergarten students also helped teach everyone about the character trait of independence, sharing how making responsible choices and doing things on our own helps us grow. A wonderful time to learn and celebrate together! š
We had a very special Principal for the Day at Tisdale! š©āš¼āØ Miss Jengo, a first grade student, stepped into the role and did an amazing job leading the day. Her duties included helping run the All School Sing, assisting in the classrooms, and so much more. We loved seeing her leadership, confidence, and school spirit in action. šš
Tisdale students are building strong writing skills through multisensory phonics instruction! āļøāØ During sentence dictation, students āpoundā the syllables of a sentence before writing. This process helps them break sentences into manageable parts, strengthen their memory, and prepare them to write with accuracy. A powerful way to support confident writers! šš
Tisdale third graders are building their understanding of fractions as equal parts of a whole by moving through the CPA (ConcreteāPictorialāAbstract) process. They began in the concrete stage using fraction tiles to build and compare wholes, and will next represent their thinking with drawings and models. We are so proud of our mathematicians! šāØ
Tisdale students in 3Lee became cultural ambassadors after exploring countries they were curious about in ELA! šāØ Students shared about their own cultures, highlighting connections to Argentina, Ireland, and more. Students brought meaningful items from home, including a soccer World Cup trophy, a family crest, and a harp necklace. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn from one another and celebrate the traditions that make our community so special! šš
Tisdale students are strengthening their reading and writing skills using sand trays during phonics instruction! āļøāØ This multisensory approach helps students practice letter formation and build stronger spelling skills by tracing letters in sand while saying the sounds. By engaging hands, eyes, and voices, students develop a deeper understanding and lasting learning. šš
We were so excited to welcome the Tisdale Class of 2039 at Kindergarten Signing Day! āļøš Our future Rams enjoyed building with Magna-Tiles and Legos, coloring, and connecting with new friends while families had the chance to meet our kindergarten teachers and other staff. A special thank you to our Rambassadors for helping make the day so welcoming! We canāt wait to see these smiling faces back in September! šš
