Learning goes beyond the classroom 💡Some Tisdale third graders noticed a need for better sportsmanship and clearer rules during recess... so they took action! They created presentations and designed rule reminder posters for games like Gaga Ball to help everyone play fair, stay safe, and have fun. The Tisdale Spring Carnival was an incredible night filled with laughter, excitement, and unforgettable memories! From bouncing on inflatables and lining up for the dunk tank to enjoying games, cotton candy, and dancing along with the live DJ, there was something for everyone! It was so special to see our entire school community come together, smiling and connecting. 💛 A huge thank you to our amazing Tisdale PTO for organizing such a fun and memorable event. Profile Project in action. Students are extending their learning beyond the classroom by returning to the very classrooms where their journey began. Senior Yaneli L. visited her former teacher, Ms. Bohlin’s second grade class, to lead a lesson in sign language, engaging students in meaningful, hands-on communication practice. Her work is part of a series focused on building foundational skills in ASL, expanding students’ ability to connect, communicate, and understand others in new ways. 🌟

“Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change.” Miss Sullivan’s preschoolers changed their perspective on drawing by creating artwork under the table with paper taped overhead! The children stretched, balanced, and positioned their bodies in new ways while they drew, building shoulder strength, body awareness, and fine motor skills. Creativity and excitement were both on display as they explored art from a completely different point of view! ✨

The excitement was off the charts at our annual third grade Kickball Game! One of our favorite traditions, this special event brought so much energy, laughter, and school spirit to the field. Beyond the fun, it was a great way for our students to build sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie. A big thank you to our amazing PE teacher, Mrs. Branagh, for organizing such a fantastic event, and to our teachers for jumping in and playing alongside the students. You made it unforgettable! 💙

What an incredible day at Tisdale with author and illustrator Jannie Ho! Students were fully engaged as she shared her writing and illustration process, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how stories and characters come to life. 📚✨ One of the highlights of the visit was watching her sketch characters from the beloved Fly Guy series right before their eyes! 🎨✏️ Some of our third graders proudly took on the important role of her “private security” for the day. 😎💙 Thank you, Jannie Ho, for inspiring our students’ creativity, imagination, and love of reading!

Although Principal Appreciation Day was celebrated on May 1st, Tisdale found meaningful ways to extend the celebration this week for our amazing principal, Mrs. Aliano! Big smiles, meaningful conversations, and special connections! 💙 Some fourth graders visited Tisdale today! One especially heartwarming moment was seeing a 4th grader stop by to visit his little brother in kindergarten. The rest of the visit was spent with select third graders, having conversations and sharing insights to help ease the transition to Dater next year. Students shared advice, answered questions, and helped our future 4th graders feel excited and confident for the year ahead! 💛
