Senior Spotlight

What's happening: Welcome to Week 2️⃣ of Senior Spotlight—a community favorite. Today, it is my absolute honor to introduce the Ramsey community to four exceptional seniors. As they stand on the cusp of graduation from RHS, these students are already locking in massive goals and setting their sights on redefining the future.

🎓 JALEN HU: University of Michigan
I am most proud of earning third at state finals at the NJAJE jazz competition during my junior year. I’m also proud of making it to the State Gala for the first time ever in the wind ensemble band, playing with professionals in the musical pit orchestra, as well as winning leagues in swimming freshman year.

After graduation, I plan to study psychology with a pre-med track at the University of Michigan.

The growth mindset that is constantly enforced within all the classes as well as the community of students and teachers all contributing to improve and push forward is what has shaped me into the student I am today, and what makes Ramsey High School so great.

🎓 ANNA LYNCH: Cornell
I’m most proud of successfully balancing a rigorous academic workload throughout high school while competing in three seasons per year of varsity cross country and track, earning the Excellence in AP Biology Award and AP Scholar with Distinction recognition, serving as Vice President of Scholarship for the National Honor Society, participating in the World Language Honor Society, becoming a 1:1 leader in Best Buddies, and volunteering with my certified therapy dog, Thor, at Allendale Senior Living.

After graduation, I’m planning to major in Biological Anthropology at Cornell University on a pre-med track while becoming involved in organizations such as GlobeMed at Cornell and participating in club track.

The part of my Ramsey Experience that stands out the most to me is the support and sense of community I felt from my teachers, coaches, counselors, and peers from my first days at Tisdale through my final years at Ramsey High School. Their encouragement pushed me to challenge myself academically, stay involved in activities and service throughout the community, and grow into a more confident and resilient person.

🎓 MADISON FRANCIS: University of Miami
I am most proud of serving as Vice President of Service for National Honor Society, doing community service throughout Ramsey, volunteering in Bergen New Bridge Medical Center’s Emergency Department, becoming a lifeguard, being a member of the World Language Honor Society, and earning the Seal of Biliteracy in French.

After graduation, I plan on attending the University of Miami on the pre-med track with a major in Chemistry.

One of my favorite parts of my Ramsey Experience was cheerleading at football games. Even though I only started cheer my junior year, I learned that it’s never too late to try something new, step out of your comfort zone, and grow in Ramsey. The games always brought everyone together and created so much school spirit and energy and I always felt so connected to the school community. The experiences from cheerleading helped me become a more caring, confident, and well-rounded person.

🎓 MAX JIANG: Case Western Reserve University
I am most proud of earning the seal of biliteracy, the AP scholar with distinction, and getting the Calculus award during my junior year at Ramsey High School.

After graduation, I am attending Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), majoring in aerospace engineering, possibly with a double major of mechanical engineering.

Being able to find myself within many different friend groups, sports, and clubs shows the inclusivity that the Ramsey community brings. Having all the various amazing opportunities to excel in academics, clubs, sports, and even to develop great relationships with teachers shaped the person that I am today.

Way to go, Rams! 🐏
