Seal of Biliteracy Exams

What’s Happening: Last week, 90 RHS students, the largest number ever, participated in the Seal of Biliteracy assessment, testing their skills in French, Spanish, and Polish.

The New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy and the Global Seal of Biliteracy recognize students who demonstrate proficiency in an additional language. The Seal is noted on students’ academic transcripts and formally recognized by the New Jersey Department of Education.

What they’re saying: β€œWe are proud of the number of students pursuing the Seal of Biliteracy this year. This record-breaking participation reflects their dedication to success, as well as the strength of our language programs and our teachers’ commitment to building a love of language learning.” - Brennan Heffernan, Supervisor of Social Studies & World Languages.

Why it matters: The Seal of Biliteracy celebrates cultural and linguistic diversity while strengthening students’ academic profiles. It also provides a meaningful advantage for college admissions and future career opportunities in a global society.
