After four days of NJSLA testing, our third graders are powering through with perseverance and pride! One of the many reasons we love our Hubbard homeโour kindergartners wrote heartfelt cards of encouragement to lift their spirits and cheer them on. ๐๐๐ Moments like this remind us how strong our school community truly is!

Before the bell rang, our staff got a special start to their Friday with a cozy morning of creativity and connection! Teachers spent time a few minutes with author and illustrator Maddie Frost, enjoying delicious treats. What a joyful way to kick off the day.

Students were excited to get their books signed by Maddie Frost!

Our second and third graders were inspired by todayโs visit from Maddie Frostโauthor, illustrator, and creative storyteller! Maddie gave students a behind-the-scenes look at how she builds stories and characters using imagination, collage-style art, and lots of persistence. With titles like Bear in a Bathrobe and The Shared Space, she encouraged students to take risks, stay curious, and have fun with their writing. Maddie exudes confidence and brings so much fun to her presentationsโshe had every student completely engaged from start to finish! What a perfect way to wrap up a Friday during Teacher Appreciation Week. A huge thank you to our amazing PTO for bringing this special author visit to life!

Storytime magic came to life today as our youngest learners enjoyed a fun and engaging visit from author and illustrator Maddie Frost! Known for books like Wakey Birds and Once Upon a Zzzz, Maddieโs playful storytelling and vibrant illustrations had our preschoolers, kindergarteners, and first graders laughing, wondering, and excited to read more. She shared how she uses shapes, texture, and color to bring her characters to lifeโand reminded us that every big idea starts with a little sketch!

Disney day in 1-Berland was truly magical โจ๐ช

Reading and building early literacy skills is that much sweeter with a reading buddy! Mrs. Zuccala and Ms. Jordanโs classes teamed up to collaborate and help spark a love of reading in our youngest learners at Hubbard School.

Did someone say live provocation? Our preschoolers are taking such thoughtful care of our honorary guinea pigsโbuilding empathy, responsibility, and connection through everyday moments that nurture both heart and mind.

Hubbard is truly home. Today, a proud alum returned to teach her younger brotherโs class about Cinco de Mayoโblending culture, building empathy, and strengthening connections. Learning about traditions outside our own helps us grow as curious, compassionate, and connected members of our community.

Spring Sing rehearsals are in full swing, and we canโt wait to showcase our songs for our families and school ๐๐.

Todayโs sunshine brought to you by our happy preschoolers!

Look at these amazing readers in Mrs. Royle's classโdeep in their books and loving every minute of it! Thereโs nothing better than getting lost in a great story.

Guilty as charged! Ms. Megna was caught during her prep time recreating a watercolor painting of a studentโs hamsterโbecause when a student asks, how can you say no? Itโs just one of the many things that make Hubbard so special: a place where dedicated staff go above and beyond to connect, create, and show students their passions and interests matter.

In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, teachers at Hubbard each got to enjoy a churro, coffee, and some sweet treatsโthank you to our wonderful PTO for the love!

Sunshine, curiosity, and caterpillars made for the perfect learning combination today! Our preschoolers followed their natural sense of wonder as they brought their caterpillars outside, carefully observing and documenting what they saw. Rooted in Reggio-inspired practices, this experience encouraged close observation, fine motor exploration, and a deep connection to the world around them.

Nurse Gamble takes care of our students with so much heart, patience, and kindnessโeven IF we send a dozen visits her way before lunch (Figuratively speaking ๐คญ). Thank you for the calm, care, and compassion you show every student who walks through your door. Your gentle way of making kids feel safe and seen means more than you know. Hubbard School just wouldnโt be Hubbard School without you. Donโt forget to wish Nurse Gamble a Happy Nurses Day!! ๐๐

Today, our second and third graders had the incredible opportunity to build their mental health toolkits with the help of Goober, the sweet therapy dog from Attitudes In Reverseยฎ (AIR)! Through fun and engaging activities, students learned ways to care for their brains, manage emotions, and support their well-beingโthanks to AIRโs amazing program and Gooberโs calming presence.

Last week, students in 1Berland proudly rotated through share stations, celebrating their All About nonfiction books and showing off all theyโve learned as expert authors!

Third grade brought their A-game for the Fun Run warm-up with Ms. G and Mrs. Rutiglianoโso much energy and excitement to kick off the week! Weโre so excited to see the entire Hubbard family at the RPEF Sprint for Our Schools 5K & Family Fun Run this Saturday!
