By recognizing and celebrating Dr. King’s life and philosophy, Ramsey students honor his contributions, learn from his example, and reflect upon the inherent dignity of all people. This reflection allows all students the opportunity to develop into thoughtful, engaged, and informed citizens through this work.

The week before winter vacation, students not only learned about New Year traditions in Spanish-speaking countries, they also practiced some of those traditions. One of those traditions is sweeping twelve coins (one for each month) on the floor of a person's house, which is good luck for more money in the year ahead. The Spanish Resource Slideshow on Schoology includes a document with many of these traditions, which is what the students used to learn about these traditions. Check them out!
