We are excited to recognize our School Counselor, Ms. Ayana Collado, for National School Counseling Week, which will be celebrated February 2–6, 2026. This special week is dedicated to highlighting the important role school counselors play in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

This year’s theme, β€œSchool Counselors Amplify Student Success,” reflects the tremendous impact Ms. Collado has in helping students build confidence, navigate friendships, develop problem-solving skills, and plan for future success. From classroom lessons to individual support, she plays a vital part in helping every Tisdale student thrive!

What the students are saying:

"When I feel sad or someone is making me upset, I tell her and she makes everything right!"- Samantha, Second Grade

"I like how she is always understanding and always listens if we are feeling sad."- Maddie, Second Grade

"She helps me by teaching me how to deal with people. She's nice, she's kind, and she listens."-Charlotte, Grade 2

What her colleagues are saying:

β€œMs. Collado is truly one of a kind. She is kind, caring, and loving, and she approaches every situation with calm and grace. She consistently puts students’ needs first, creating an environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. Students love and respect her because she builds meaningful, trusting relationships with them. She is a safe space for all, and our school community is better because of her presence.” -Mrs. Jennifer Crawford

β€œMs. Collado's influence at Tisdale goes far beyond the academics. She helps shape children's sense of safety, belonging, and self-worth which lays the emotional foundation that allows young learners to grow, connect, and thrive. I'm so grateful to have Ayana as a colleague because she is always there to listen and is a great person to brainstorm with. Tisdale is lucky to have her!” -Mrs. Lauren Klaus

"Ms. Collado's soft-spoken voice and calm presence reassure us that our students are supported, understood, and never alone." - Ms. Daria Pontone

We invite families to join us in celebrating and thanking Ms. Collado for the positive difference she makes in our school community each and every day!
