Tisdale Community Meetings

We are pleased to share information about our Community Meetings, which take place once per trimester for each grade level.

The Big Picture: Community Meetings are an intentional opportunity for students within the same grade to come together, reflect, and learn as a group. These meetings focus on social-emotional learning and provide students with practical strategies they can apply both in school and beyond. By gathering as a grade-level community, students develop a shared language and understanding around positive behaviors and decision-making.

Why it matters: Strong social skills are essential to academic success and overall well-being. This year, our Community Meetings will center on three developmentally appropriate themes:

  • How to Make Friends – building inclusive relationships and practicing empathy.

  • Glimmers – recognizing positive moments and focusing on what is going well.

  • Manners (Self-Control) – developing self-regulation, respect, and responsible choices.

Through guided discussions and age-appropriate activities, students will practice skills that support healthy relationships, emotional awareness, and self-control.

The Bottom Line: Community Meetings help reinforce the values we emphasize every day at school and support students in becoming kind, respectful, and thoughtful members of our school community. These shared experiences strengthen connections among students and provide them with tools that will serve them not only now, but throughout their lives.
