Last week, Ms. Garcia & Ms. Kelly hosted Edgar Allan Poe day in the library! Students across all grades were invited in to learn about the American Gothic Horror author, hear guest readers tell the classic Tell Tale Heart, and watch The Simpson's adaptation of one of his most notable works- The Raven! It was the perfect way to get into the Spooky Spirit

🌎 The benefits of investments are far-reaching:
🌟 A generation of students ready to tackle global challenges.
🌟 A workforce prepared for the jobs of tomorrow.
🌟 A world where every child has the opportunity to shine.

Students in 7th grade science conducted an experiment of Electrolysis (Running an electric current) through water! By doing this, students separated water into its separate parts, giving us hydrogen and oxygen gas. In a world filled with challenges, our teachers stand strong leaders with great knowledge, inspiration, and support. They're the everyday heroes who shape the future, one lesson at a time. 📚✨

Friday's Ram Fact.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Enrollment is rising! Students at RHS continue to explore exciting opportunities, especially within our music/band programs with numbers above historical averages. We love to see it Ramsey!

WIN Wednesdays are for solving a mystery! The 7-1 Flamingos are trying to crack the case of the missing shoes. Dr. Esdale’s sneakers are missing and the team got to analyze the evidence and create theories about who the culprit could be. Next week, they will go on a scavenger hunt to solve the crime🔍👟🧐

This pathway brings accessibility to the project by meeting the needs and preferences of students. It also deepens our implementation of our unique graduation requirement.

Curricular expansion: Smith Middle School now offers these courses, providing students the opportunity to have an introduction to both concepts in semester-long instruction.

Today @ Smith:
Ms. Csengeto's 7th grade are sharing their thinking work and reflecting today as students work through the last day of Unit 1.

The numbers do not lie!
With approximately 450 student athletes currently involved in athletics, we are confident the 2023-24 school year will be equally as successful. 🐏

Time to get Spooky, Smith School! The Annual Student Council Costume Contest will be held during homeroom on Tuesday, October 31st! Categories include MOST ORIGINAL, FUNNIEST, BEST GROUP, BEST INDIVIDUAL, and SCARIEST. We can't wait to see your costumes!

Enjoying a beautiful bit of Fall Foliage right outside of Smith School🍁

Can the 7-1 Flamingos crack the code?! Dr. Esdale's prized possession- his Air Jordan sneakers- have gone missing and now it's up to the students of 7-1 to solve this Who-Dun-It! There's quite a lot of suspects at hand....who will be identified as the culprit?? Stay tuned to find out which homeroom solves the crime!

The 6th grade took a field trip to Medieval Times! Students have been studying the Feudal system in their social studies classes; they got to watch a dramatization of a Medieval Joust, see replicas of Medieval weaponry, cheer on knights, and enjoy period-inspired foods. Huzzah!

Mrs Csengeto’s 7th graders are working hard on their Unit 1 performance assessment in which they will highlight their thinking work and showcase the pattern they uncovered while reading realistic fiction.

35 STUDENTS!!!
In addition to this worldly Ram Fact, 27 different languages are spoken at home!

Congrats, RHS!

Today at Smith School:
Critical thinking requires students to think about the world from various angles and perspectives. This week, students had to design a new way to teach the Feudal Hierarchy that did not use the traditional triangle shape.

Solid, measurable growth within a two-year span.
