Students will spend the entire school day engaging in traditional play with classmates, teachers, specialists, and staff. Activities will include board games, card games, building materials, action figures, and other classic games that encourage imagination and connection.
This day provides a meaningful opportunity for children to strengthen communication, collaboration, problem solving, critical thinking, and social skills while engaging in free play. Throughout the day, teachers will guide students in reflecting on their experiences.
In addition to games, each student is asked to bring in their favorite picture book to share with their class.
Older siblings will have the opportunity to read aloud to younger siblingsβ classrooms throughout the day.
Whatβs next?
There will be homework. Continue the play!
Please begin thinking about which board games your child may want to bring in and their favorite picture book to share. No electronics please. Thank you for your support in celebrating the importance of play.
