Hubbard School Play Day
Friday, September 12
The Big Picture
Play Day is all about giving teachers a chance to get to know their studentsβ interests right from the start of the school year.
What You Need to Do
Children should bring in games they love and know how to play well, or toys of interest such as action figures, dolls, or cars. Please remember no electronics.
Why It Matters
On Play Day, students will spend the entire school day engaged in βtraditionalβ games such as board games, cards, building activities, and more with their classmates, teachers, specialists, and principal. This time provides phenomenal opportunities for children to practice communication, collaboration, problem solving, and critical thinking, while also exploring games they may have never played before. Teachers will guide students in reflecting on their experiences throughout the day.
Play Day is a joyful and meaningful tradition that sets the tone for a year of learning, wonder, curiosity, and community at Hubbard!
