Last week was the Dater Back to School Night. It was a great turnout! Developing a strong connection between school and families is crucial for student success. In Ramsey, we are proud to partner with parents and families to benefit students.



R-E-S-P-E-C-T! The week of Respect starts tomorrow at Dater! On Monday, we recognize and respect each other’s differences by wearing mismatched clothes.

5-GT is exploring density in their first Science Unit - Matter and its Properties! Mrs. Gesualdo's and Miss Thomson's students investigate density by identifying physical properties of matter and comparing density of different substances. Young scientists-in-training!





The Ramsey School District will be closed on Monday, September 25th in observance of Yom Kippur.


5-Jezequel making connections to symbolism in their read aloud, Esperanza Rising, by Pam Munoz Ryan, where the main character, Esperanza, is learning a life lesson. "While you are waiting, finish this for me.” She handed Esperanza the bundle of crocheting. “Look at the zigzag of the blanket. Mountains and valleys. Right now you are in the bottom of the valley and your problems loom big around you. But soon, you will be at the top of a mountain again. After you have lived many mountains and valleys, we will be together.”

Ramsey proudly recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month!
Hispanic Heritage Month notes the anniversaries of independence for Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, it also recognizes Mexico’s Independence Day on September 16th, Chile’s on September 18th, and Belize’s on September 21st.


Dater students worked in teams to ESCAPE THE ITC!! They used collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. Not everyone escaped, but fun was had by all!

Today, each of the schools in the Ramsey School District paused to reflect on the events of September 11, 2001. Through a variety of age-appropriate instruction and activity, students learned how these events changed our country forever.
