5Jo is showing respect to their classmates this Respect Week as they quietly explore their Historical Fiction novels through audiobooks. Being respectful in this way allows their peers to focus on the actions taking place in their novels, which will help reveal the theme. πŸ“–

So many decisions on which book to read in Mrs. McGowan’s class

4 Guarnieri has been focusing on identifying the main idea across texts, and reflecting on how this skill supports their growth as readers. Students took ownership of organizing their ideas, using strategies from their Reader’s Toolbox to structure information in ways most effective for their learning. Their independence, creativity, and confidence as readers shine through in their work!
