¡Corre en círculos ! 🏃🏻♀️4th graders use clues to "run in circles" around the room and complete their scavenger hunt. Each clue leads them to a new paper, where they translate their greetings and farewells into Spanish.

Read Across America was an absolute blast at Dater! Our teachers disguised their identities—but they couldn’t hide their love for reading. 💕📚 A huge thank you to the high school readers who came to share stories with our students. What a fun and memorable week celebrating books together!

After exploring, researching, and building a model of the human brain, GATE students participate in a "scent blind" taste test. By limiting their sense of smell, students challenge themselves to identify flavors while relying on only a small part of their olfactory system!
4Guarnieri engaged in a "table talk" conversation to collaborate, and deepen their analysis within their historical fiction book clubs! Students chose which big question to respond to, demonstrating accountability for their contributions. Throughout their conversations, they applied critical thinking skills to understand key events and character motivations. They also built upon their peers' ideas using evidence from the text. I am so proud of them!
To celebrate Valentine's Day before break, students in 5Modesto/Azouri & 5Gesualdo/Thomson learned how to use descriptive language and proper grammar to develop thoughtful compliments. Each student wrote a meaningful compliment for every classmate in our Humanities class and also received one in return. Reading the compliments at the end of the activity made us all smile and helped us appreciate our kind and loving classroom community on this special day of love. 💕

Dater 4th graders explored observational drawing by carefully sketching art tools, color wheels, and pop art–inspired designs. Along the way, they practiced watercolor techniques, focusing on color mixing, brush control, and creative expression. 🎨 🖼️
