Guilty as charged! Ms. Megna was caught during her prep time recreating a watercolor painting of a student’s hamster—because when a student asks, how can you say no? It’s just one of the many things that make Hubbard so special: a place where dedicated staff go above and beyond to connect, create, and show students their passions and interests matter.
In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, teachers at Hubbard each got to enjoy a churro, coffee, and some sweet treats—thank you to our wonderful PTO for the love!
Sunshine, curiosity, and caterpillars made for the perfect learning combination today! Our preschoolers followed their natural sense of wonder as they brought their caterpillars outside, carefully observing and documenting what they saw. Rooted in Reggio-inspired practices, this experience encouraged close observation, fine motor exploration, and a deep connection to the world around them.
Nurse Gamble takes care of our students with so much heart, patience, and kindness—even IF we send a dozen visits her way before lunch (Figuratively speaking 🤭). Thank you for the calm, care, and compassion you show every student who walks through your door. Your gentle way of making kids feel safe and seen means more than you know. Today, our second and third graders had the incredible opportunity to build their mental health toolkits with the help of Goober, the sweet therapy dog from Attitudes In Reverse® (AIR)! Through fun and engaging activities, students learned ways to care for their brains, manage emotions, and support their well-being—thanks to AIR’s amazing program and Goober’s calming presence.
Last week, students in 1Berland proudly rotated through share stations, celebrating their All About nonfiction books and showing off all they’ve learned as expert authors!
Third grade brought their A-game for the Fun Run warm-up with Ms. G and Mrs. Rutigliano—so much energy and excitement to kick off the week! We’re so excited to see the entire Hubbard family at the RPEF Sprint for Our Schools 5K & Family Fun Run this Saturday!

Thank you to our generous PTO for kicking off Teacher Appreciation Week with delicious empanadas from B&G—what a treat! And a heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Linzenbold for staying late on Friday and arriving early this morning to make sure every staff member was welcomed with a special poster signed by their class. Our students were incredible secret keepers—what a meaningful surprise to start the week! This is what makes Hubbard feel like home. 💙💛

Another day, another opportunity to show what we know — and have fun doing it! Students put their math minds to the test with Jeopardy-style challenges, sharing strategies, thinking critically, and cheering each other on along the way.
K-Shand was rocking their hats today for Lax State of Mind’s District-Wide Hat Day! 🧢💙 Students showed their support by participating in this special event, which raises awareness and funds for research on incurable neurological diseases and provides a scholarship for a deserving lacrosse player at Ramsey High School. Way to go, K-Shand!
Beautiful day and beautiful learning happening in Mrs. Reid’s class ☀️. The preschoolers took their learning outside, where play turned into powerful learning! As they explored and collaborated, students naturally incorporated vocabulary they’ve learned — like pappus — into their conversations. In preschool, moments like these show how language, curiosity, and observation come together through meaningful, joyful experiences.
Students in Mrs. Pianoforte’s class used their growing phonics knowledge to write full sentences during dictation today! They listened carefully, stretched out sounds, and focused on spacing, punctuation, and handwriting — building confidence as writers one sentence at a time. ✏️📖
As always, we ended the first Friday of the month with a bang — coming together as one big Hubbard family! These moments remind us how special it is to learn, grow, and celebrate as a school community.
