Music plays an important role in early elementary education, and Ms. McDonald models RISE while creating a space for our preschoolers through third graders to demonstrate RISE through music 🎶🎼 . In preparation for the spring Celebration of Cultures concert, third graders are learning songs from different cultures, which thoughtfully connects to their classroom work as they research cultures and develop empathy and awareness for the world around them 💙💛

Students in K-Cam have been practicing their number sense in all kinds of ways! Today, they used Play-doh counters to determine how to create "one more or one less" of a given number.

Students enjoyed the cooler winter temperatures and sunshine during morning play. As James L. Hymes reminds us, “Play builds the kind of free and easy, try it out, do it yourself character that our future needs.” Mrs. Coleman’s class embraced this spirit through joyful movement and exploration.

Our first week back at school and our first Friday of 2026 could not have started on a better note. Today we celebrated our Hubbard School pride, recognized students for their efforts, and learned more about what empathy means through RISE. It was a meaningful way to begin the year together as a school community, reminding us that kindness, care for others, and school spirit are at the heart of who we are. 💙💛
Here are some highlights from Mrs. Kertesz’s class community experience today. They visited One Gym For All, where our preschoolers had a wonderful time exploring the climbing equipment, sliding, and enjoying pretend play together. It was a day full of movement, smiles, and fun.

Lots of hands-on learning in action at Hubbard School! Using play dough, scissors, and counting snowflakes, students worked on fine motor coordination, hand strength, and control. 💪🏼
Spanish with Señor Becker provides meaningful opportunities for students to practice RISE values. As students learn a new language, they also learn how respect, independence, self control, and empathy support communication and connection! 🤩
