Reboot Crews Emerge in Ramsey School District

Ramsey students are taking the lead. ๐Ÿš€

What's happening: Project Reboot โ€œstudent crewโ€ development is underway at both Dater and Smith, and the energy around digital wellness is higher than ever!

  • Last week, 5th grade Dater School project reboot ambassadors were all smiles during their first planning meeting, where they brainstormed possible side quest ideas to teach and show Dater students.

  • Every month, there will be a new area of focus, and the ambassadors can't wait to show the students of Dater all the fun they can have with each other without technology.

  • Mrs. Hicks, Mrs. Fishman, and Mrs. Lawley are excited to support our Project Reboot ambassadors.

Why it matters: Both schools are taking creative, student-led approaches to build a more tech-intentional culture:

  • Dater School: Introducing monthly, hands-on "tech-free activities," from card games and cat's cradle to crocheting. These fun ideas will also be shared with parents so families can keep the screen-free momentum going strong at home.

  • Smith School: Student leaders are reconvening to brainstorm custom "side quests" and exciting incentives to motivate their peers. They are actively shaping what intentional technology use looks like in their daily lives.

The bottom line: Ramsey students are proving that stepping back from screens opens up a world of creativity, connection, and real-world fun. Stay tuned for more updates as these student-inspired initiatives roll out!
