What's happening: When Ramsey School District called upon 10 exceptional students to reflect on their journey through our schools, the results were nothing short of impressive. Their insightful answers offer a powerful glimpse into the diverse passions and profound accomplishments that unite us all as part of the greater Ram family.

Please enjoy week one of a three-part series celebrating members of the Class of 2026. Below are excerpts from their responses to our survey. ⬇️

🎓 JOANA BARAHONA REYES: CHRISTINE VALMY SCHOOL OF AESTHETICS

I am most proud of getting my high school diploma. I have been working hard to achieve this because I know how much this opens doors for me and will help with my future.

After RHS, I have decided to pursue a career in esthetics and cosmetology at the Christine Valmy International School. I have always been very interested in a career in skin care. I want to help other people feel more confident and beautiful in their own skin.

The part of the Ramsey experience that stands out to me the most is the interactions I have had with the great teachers here. I am very grateful to the Ramsey High School Staff; teachers, case managers, guidance and support staff.

🎓 PAIGE BERGER: BERGEN STARS PROGRAM

I am most proud of being a captain for both the girls tennis and girls wrestling teams, where I was able to lead and grow alongside my teammates. I'm also proud to have been a part of the mascot team, Student Council, and an Executive Board member of Rambassadors. Balancing these roles while maintaining a GPA to qualify for the NJ STARS program is something that means a lot to me.

After graduation I will be attending Bergen Community College as a part of their NJ STARS program pursuing a major in Business Administration. Additionally, I plan to transfer after Bergen to get my Bachelor's Degree.

The wide variety of opportunities including clubs, sports, and leadership activities makes the Ramsey Experience stand out. The ability to take part in such a range of different areas truly helps one develop as a student. I also credit my success to the teachers, counselors, and coaches who took the time to get to know me personally, supported my goals, and encouraged me throughout my years at RHS.

🎓 COLIN DOUGHERTY: UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA

I am most proud of helping the cross country team qualify for state groups for the first time in 5 years, scoring a 5 on multiple AP exams, earning the Spanish Seal of Biliteracy, being a member of the World Challenge Cambodia expedition, and conducting my profile project at the Bergen County Zoo.

After RHS, I will attend the University of California Berkeley, majoring in Environmental Sciences at the Rausser College of Natural Resources.

Ramsey has offered numerous opportunities that have expanded my knowledge and challenged me to improve. The supportive environment allowed me to explore my passions, develop leadership skills, and actively contribute to future conservation efforts.

🎓 MEGAN WEIR: HOLY CROSS

I am proud of being a part of Student Congress all four years culminating in my role as the Board of Education's Student Representative my senior year. I am also proud of being a three year varsity swim captain, and holding leadership positions in multiple clubs such as DECA, Gen 21, Interact Club, and Model United Nations.

After graduation, I am attending the College of the Holy Cross and plan to major in Economics and Political Science with a minor in Ethics, Society, and the Institution of Business.

Ramsey's small community allows for staff to truly look out for students, recognizing how to best support each individual. I appreciate how my teachers have taken the time to get to know me personally and provide me opportunities that I would not have had without their guidance and support.

Congratulations Class of 2026! 🎉
