What's happening: Ramsey High School's spectacular girls soccer season continues to rack up accolades, with standout sophomore Hope Ernst being named North Jersey Female Athlete of the Week, presented by HSS.
Ernst was a pivotal force in the Rams' historic run to their first-ever outright Bergen County Tournament championship. The tireless forward scored in every round of the tournament, including the crucial opening goal in the 3-1 victory over Immaculate Heart in the final.
This season, the 15-year-old boasts incredible stats, accumulating 27 goals and 19 assists as the undefeated Rams (21-0) head into todayβs North 1, Group 2 state semifinals as the top seed and defending champions.
According to Coach Drew Strohmeyer, it's Ernst's relentless motor and commitment to playing without the ballβoften sprinting across the field to win back possessionβthat makes her truly exceptional.
"She's an unbelievable soccer player, but I think sheβs an even better person," Coach Strohmeyer said.
