HOBY Leadership

What's happening: Two RHS students EJ Mavrides and Gabby McMahon recently attended the HOBY (Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Program) on behalf of the Ramsey School District.

Why it matters: NJ HOBY is the New Jersey branch of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing youth leaders. HOBY in New Jersey provides a platform for high school sophomores to participate in leadership seminars, gain valuable skills, and connect with peers from across the state.

What they’re saying:

“HOBY was such a fun experience! I arrived feeling outmatched and that I had to prove myself. I left learning to support and cheer for others while pushing myself to be better and embrace the 'why not me?' attitude. I also formed many lasting friendships across the state! HOBY pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow into a more confident person. -EJ Mavrides, RHS Sophomore

“NJ HOBY reminded me that leadership isn't about titles, it's about action. The entire HOBY community was so passionate and driven; I left challenged,  inspired, and ready to use my voice and make a change in our community. " -Gabby McMahon, RHS Sophomore

These seminars are proven to cultivate personal growth and inspire action. Students leave HOBY with the knowledge and passion needed to make a positive impact on the world around them. Being a part of the HOBY community unlocks a world of opportunities and connections beyond the seminars.
