3-Limatola students are analyzing characters’ thoughts, actions, and emotions while using text evidence to identify character traits. By noting specific actions or dialogue from the text and interpreting what this reveals about a character’s emotions or motivations, students are building strong reading comprehension skills and making deeper connections to the stories they read.
Inspired by a Driving Question Board, students in 3-Lee are using a Wonder Wall to record observations about magnets, ask thoughtful questions, and share their discoveries. Students even got a special visit from Ms. Megna and were thrilled to explain what a phenomena is and provide examples from their learning! The discovery table encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and collaborative exploration, sparking excitement and deeper understanding in science.

3-Frank caught cozying up with a good book! Our third graders are diving into Unit 2 of reading, where they’re developing theories about characters and exploring what makes each story come to life.

Hubbard Honors Heritage: Learning About the Lenape-Munsee Tribe - In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, Hubbard School welcomed the O’Blenis family, members of the Lenape-Munsee tribe. Students explored the rich history and traditions of the Lenape-Munsee through fascinating artifacts, traditional dances (including one they joined!), and a captivating short story. This hands-on experience helped our students connect with and appreciate the heritage of our local Indigenous community.
Mrs. Frank and Ms. Jordan had a fantastic idea to bring the third-grade students at Hubbard together to create a giant Array City! Students paired up with classmates from different classes and collaborated to design buildings using arrays, illustrating multiplication concepts in a hands-on and visual way. This project was not only a fun and creative way to encourage teamwork, but it also helped students actively develop the Profile of a Ramsey Graduate competencies, such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. A wonderful example of learning through community and creativity!
This month’s character trait at Hubbard is gratitude, and students in 2-Murphy are embracing it through their Gratitude Jar project! They’re exchanging notes of appreciation with one another, filling the jar—and each other’s hearts—with kindness and positivity. Now it’s your turn! What are you grateful for, Ramsey community? 🧡
