What's Happening: Our third graders recently visited Dater School to begin preparing for an exciting transition this September. During their visit, students had the opportunity to meet up with their future classmates from Hubbard School, helping to build connections before the start of fourth grade.
Why it matters: Upon arrival, students were warmly welcomed by Dater staff and students, including a special performance from the Dater band. The visit included a guided tour of the school, where students explored classrooms, common areas, and other important spaces they will use next year. Throughout the morning, students were able to ask questions, learn about life at Dater, and gain a better understanding of what to expect as they move to fourth grade!
Big Picture: Transitions are an important milestone in every student's educational journey. Experiences like the Dater visit help students build confidence, reduce uncertainty, and develop excitement about the opportunities that lie ahead. By connecting with future classmates, meeting staff members, and becoming familiar with their new environment, students are better prepared to begin fourth grade feeling comfortable and ready to learn.

We are proud of our third graders as they take this next step and look forward to seeing them continue to grow and thrive as future Dater students!
