Last Friday, May 8th, we welcomed author and illustrator Jannie Ho, the creative mind behind The Lost Mitten, Pumpkin and Beetle, and Fry Guys, to Tisdale School!
What’s Happening: Tisdale recently welcomed Jannie Ho for an exciting Author Visit that inspired students across all grade levels. She led engaging assemblies for our students where she shared her personal journey into writing and illustrating, what motivates her creativity, and the step-by-step process she uses to bring her stories to life. Students were especially excited to watch her live drawing demonstration, where she sketched some of her most popular characters right before their eyes.
Big Impact: This visit sparked creativity and curiosity throughout the school. Students gained a deeper understanding of how books are created, from ideas to illustrations, and many left feeling inspired to write and draw their own stories! Seeing an author and illustrator in action made the world of literature feel more accessible and exciting! Experiences like this help build a love of reading, encourage artistic expression, and show students that their ideas can grow into something meaningful.
