Key Details:
Purpose: To remove barriers to learning caused by social media and constant connectivity, reclaiming the school day for academics and student well-being.
Funding Use: The grant will maintain secure storage, provide staff training for grades 6β12, and ensure technology access for students with medical needs.
How the Funds Will Be Used: The $10,730 award will be utilized to continue our work providing phone-free environments. Potential uses for these funds include:
Secure Storage Systems: Maintaining high-quality locked pouch systems (Yondr), lockers, or check-in cabinets to keep devices safe during the day.
Staff Training: Ensuring our educators have the tools and training to apply these policies consistently across grades 6-12.
Safety & Accessibility: Following state guidelines to ensure students with specific medical needs maintain the necessary access to their technology.
The bottom line: By securing devices from the first bell to the last, we are committed to helping our students stay focused, social, and engaged.
