The Borough of Ramsey recently passed a new e-bike ordinance and riders in Ramsey must adhere to the new e-bike and e-scooter regulations to ensure safety for all.
All riders must familiarize themselves with the new ordinances. This includes understanding where riding is permitted and ensuring e-bikes are properly registered and insured.
These new rules aim to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of riders, pedestrians, and drivers alike.
Why it matters: With a surge in the number of e-bike users, Ramsey has experienced several incidents due to non-compliance with traffic laws.
To get the word out and educate the students on these new regulations, we have collaborated with the Ramsey Police Department to provide educational assemblies and resources to students at Dater, Smith, and Ramsey High School over the last few days.
What's next: While addressed in school handbooks, The Board of Education is will be implementing an official e-bike policy in coming months to govern use of e-bikes on school grounds.
