A Foundation for Lifelong Fitness: The core philosophy guiding the new program is simple yet profound: being active should be a lifelong lifestyle, and learning how to safely and properly strength train is the critical first step.

πŸ›‘ Beyond the Weight Room: Coach Costanzo’s role extends far beyond supervising lifts. As a daily resource for all students, she offers valuable expertise on training philosophies, managing chronic pains, and understanding muscle training.

The programs are structured to support athletes throughout the year:

  • Off-Season: Programs begin 12-16 weeks prior to the official season start, focusing on foundational training styles that reduce injury risk, improve balance and coordination, and build strength and power production.

  • In-Season: Training shifts to maintaining the developed strength and power that often diminishes during the competitive season, helping to reduce the risk of overuse injuries and chronic pain.

  • General Student Access: The Wellness Center is open every day after school under the coach's supervision, making a fitness-based lifestyle accessible to all students, regardless of their athletic involvement or goals.

🀝 Collaborative Coaching for Specific Needs: To maximize impact, Coach Costanzo will work with individual sport coaches to tailor training plans. Prior to starting a program, the coach discusses the team's goals and analyzes common athlete injuries.

Leveraging experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, Coach Costanzo observes the specific demands of each sport and the common injuries associated with it. This collaborative approach allows for the creation of programs that specifically align with the technical skills and injury profiles of various Ramsey teams.
