Eagle Scouts Honored in Ceremony.

What's happening: Ramsey High School Sophomores Ryan Budway and Ryan J. Barrett of Ramsey Troop 31 have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor in Scouting America. They were officially given this honor in a recognition ceremony this past Sunday.

  • Why it matters: The multiyear journey to the Eagle Scout Award is one of the most involved and transformative experiences a young person can have.

  • Skills developed: Students working toward their Eagle Scount rank try new things through the merit badge program, develop confidence in the outdoors, practice leadership tactics, and plan, develop and give leadership to a service project that benefits their community.

💫 Ryan Budway: Ryan built an outdoor classroom for his Eagle Scout service project, including benches and display area at Hubbard Elementary School.

💫 Ryan Barrett: Ryan refurbished and rebuilt an accessway and ramp for service at St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark, NJ. Both will have lasting impacts for the community for years to come.

🎉 Congratulations to both Rams - this is an incredible example of community-focused learning and giving!
