What's happening: Closing out our Senior Spotlight series with the highest of honors! 🌟 For our final week, it is a true privilege to introduce our community to this year’s exceptional top scholars: Valedictorian Lily Kriz and Salutatorian Anne Sutherland. Join us in celebrating their incredible achievements and dedication!
🎓 LILY KRIZ: UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME
I am most proud of being named Valedictorian, as well as many other accomplishments including obtaining my EMT certification and volunteering with the Ramsey Ambulance Corps, serving as a softball captain for our incredible team and being named First Team All-Bergen County, earning the Girl Scout Gold Award by educating my peers on opioid addiction recovery methods, being selected as the RHS ambassador to the HOBY leadership seminar, and serving as a catechist at St. Paul Church, where I help children build their faith.
After graduation, I will attend the University of Notre Dame as a recipient of the Jack and Cathy Brennan Family Scholarship, where I will pursue a degree in neuroscience and continue developing my passion for health care and helping others through medicine.
What stands out most about my Ramsey Experience is the incredible support I received from the teachers and staff throughout my educational journey. Beginning in elementary school, when I received additional reading and speech support for my learning disability, I have always felt cared for and supported by my teachers; they always inspired me to work hard and follow my passions. Thank you to every teacher who made the Ramsey School District feel like a family, especially Ms. Alcaide and Mr. Tribuzio.
🎓 ANNE SUTHERLAND: BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY
I am proud to have been named Salutatorian. I am also proud of being part of the cross country team that won State Group Championships. I will cherish the relationships and friendships that I have made with people within the Ramsey community.
After graduation I am taking a gap year to serve a mission for my church to Mexico. Afterwards I will be attending BYU in Idaho on full scholarship. I will be majoring in nutrition and dietetics.
Ramsey is a really close knit community where all of the parents are really supportive, not only of their own kids, but also others. The school administration and teachers are also very dedicated to the students and to what will help them be successful. This has helped me be motivated to succeed as well as actually giving me opportunities and the ability to pursue my interests.
Congratulations Class of 2026! 🎉
