What's happening: As the school year begins, Ramsey School District encourages all families to take advantage of the exceptional resources at Ramsey Free Public Library. The library offers extensive support for student success, including research databases, study spaces, laptops, WiFi hotspots, and educational programming.
Recent renovations have enhanced the children's room and event space, with teen room improvements underway. Upcoming family events include the Harvest Festival (September 27) and Halloween Boo Bash (October 25).
Important Policy Updates:
π Children under 10 require parent/guardian supervision
π Parents remain responsible for children 10+ using the library independently
π New after-school policy: Students 12 and under cannot use public desktop computers between 2-5 pm, but may borrow dedicated laptops for use in the renovated children's area
The laptop lending program provides tweens with their own study space featuring cafΓ©-style seating and comfortable areas. Parents can complete the one-time agreement form online or print it from the library's website. (linked via letter below)
The bottom line: We strongly support the library's mission to create a safe, welcoming environment for learning. Please review all policies at ramseypl.org and encourage your students to utilize these valuable community resources.
