Ramsey Students Win Gold in Special Olympics Summer Games
Three students from Ramsey High School won gold medals at the Special Olympics NJ Summer Games 2022 held at the College of New Jersey June 10-12. Ramsey athletes Paige Eleazar, Hudson Manolis and Angus Durden were a part of the Lakeland Lancers Special Olympics team. Paige won a gold medal for four-person team bocce. Hudson earned a gold medal in mini javelin and 4x100 meter relay with Unified Athletes. He also won a silver in the long jump. Angus also received a gold medal in the 4X100 meter relay with Unified Athletes and a bronze medal in the 50-meter dash and long jump. The Ramsey athletes trained throughout the spring season to be a part of the summer games track and field team or bocce team. This is the first time the games have been played since 2019.
