Applause for Laura Behrmann

Ramsey School Board President Laura Behrmann has achieved the revered status of Master Board Member. This is the third level of certification available through the NJ School Boards Association. To be eligible, the member's entire Board must first be a Certified Board (Ramsey received this honor last year). To receive the MBM, members must have earned Certified Board Member status and accumulated 20 additional credits (for a total of 40). Eligibility is not be considered until the board member has achieved the CBM and served for one year at that level.

Master Board Member requirements:

  • Earn a total of 40 cumulative credits

  • Attend at least eight county meetings

  • Attend at least two NJSBA delegate assemblies

  • Attend two annual NJSBA Workshops

  • Attend at least three statewide or regional professional development programs

  • Have not been judged to have violated the School Ethics Act (As determined by NJSBA)

  • Pass an examination covering board responsibilities or submit a portfolio
