By now you have all read the letter from Dr. Murphy announcing his retirement as Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Matthew Murphy has led the Ramsey School District for nine years, and the Board of Education recognizes that his retirement will leave a very notable gap in our administrative team.
Thankfully, there is ample time to formulate a plan. A District as high-achieving as Ramsey will no doubt call for extensive search. This process will begin with intensive exploration into what qualities the staff and Board will require from the top leader of the District. The community will also be able to provide input through a survey that will be distributed shortly.
The details will take shape and be announced in the coming weeks. Until then, and indeed beyond that, we will focus on continuing the Ramsey practice of Achieving Excellence, One Student at a Time. We have time to conduct a thoughtful and thorough search for the next superintendent and plan for a suitable send-off for the one who has elevated our District over the past decade.
