Stigma Free Walk & Talk a Thon: May 7

Mark your calendars! Ramsey School District and West Bergen Mental Health are excited to announce the 5th annual Walk and Talk a Thon taking place in person on Saturday, May 7 at Ramsey High School Track and Field. The event features an “open house” format; we encourage and invite all community members and constituents to come!

See the flyer for all the details, including how to show your support with a Stigma-Free t-shirt.

According to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, 1 in 5 people will be affected by mental illness in their lifetime. The organization is a leader in the #breakthestigma movement and designates May as Mental Health Month. Only half the people affected typically seek treatment, and stigma is often cited as the reason.

Ramsey Schools are proud to be STIGMA FREE and encourages others in helping to #endthestigma. This event will help those in need and those who want to raise awareness about the stigmas associated with mental health. As we emerge from the pandemic, it is important to lend a hand or ear to those in need. Ramsey School District is excited to see your faces in May!

You can help before May 7 by sharing this invitation with your friends!

Our inaugural Walk and Talk a Thon brought out more than 300 people, and we hope to grow participation this year. The event is low key – very little talking -- but the collective impact is powerful. We hope that you will be part of that impact and join us.
