Brandon Hwang (Class of 2022) has been accepted to two very prestigious programs for rising seniors: the Henry Clay High School Student Congress and the New Jersey Scholars Program. Please read more about these programs below. And, of course, congratulations to Brandon on these amazing accomplishments! We are so proud of you and know that you will represent Ramsey well.
Henry Clay High School Student Congress
Brandon was accepted as one of only 50 juniors nationwide to participate in Henry Clay’s High School Student Congress. The High School Student Congress, which takes place at the Henry Clay Center at the University of Kentucky, is an immersive summer program for students interested in politics, leadership and public policy. According to the program's website, during the experience "participants focus on different dimensions of politics and public policy through an intensive curriculum. In addition, students engage with lawmakers, local officials, community leaders and others to explore the challenges of leadership in public policy."
New Jersey Scholars Program
Brandon was also accepted as one of only 39 students across the state to participate in the incredibly selective New Jersey Scholars Program. The program, which is taught by professors from some of the most prestigious universities across the country, is a five-week intensive experience, that explores a topic through an interdisciplinary lens. This year's topic is Mind and Body: The Future of Being Human." According to the designers of the program, it "will change students’ lives by teaching them to think in a new way — relating disciplines instead of dividing them. Scholars participate in lectures and small-group seminars where they actively engage with the disciplines."
