Release of 2017-2018 NJ School Performance Reports

By Andrew Matteo, Director of Curriculum

On March 12 the New Jersey Department of Education released the School Performance Reports for the 2017-2018 school year. These reports, which are available on the NJ School Performance Reports webpage at www.njschooldata.org, provide families, educators and the public one picture of school performance. The performance reports offer valuable information across many elements, including schoolwide academic achievement and progress, demographics, school climate, chronic absenteeism, and college and career readiness. Along with the full reports, one-page Summary Reports that provide a high-level summary are available for each school.

While they do contain valuable information, please keep in mind that these reports do not paint a full picture of what makes a school successful.  In Ramsey, we take pride in providing an excellent educational experience for our students focused on their complete well-being while at the same time preparing them to thrive in the modern world through the development of the important skills that we have outlined in the Profile of a Ramsey Graduate.  Nevertheless, I do encourage you to review the reports, which are also posted on the Assessment section of the Academics webpage.

Finally, the NJDOE continues to seek public input on ways to improve future reports. Please complete the feedback survey at  www.surveymonkey.com/r/VKNTTRC or email reportcard@doe.nj.gov with feedback and suggestions.
