On April 3, the Ramsey Public Schools will be screening the nationally acclaimed movie, The Hunting Ground, a groundbreaking movie that shines the light on the issue of sexual assault on college campuses across the United States. We will be viewing the middle and high school version of the film and strongly encourage you to bring your high school son and/or daughter to this event. Afterward, our hope is to have a discussion.
As parents and teachers, this issue demands our attention, as we can make a difference through the parenting and education of our young people. Together we need to have conversations around consent, bystander intervention, and healthy relationships. The Hunting Ground will help this process as it tells the stories of young men and women who are victims and perpetrators of sexual violence, and presents an unprecedented opportunity to affect social change.
