Welcome to Wesley D. Tisdale School!

It is a privilege to work alongside our dedicated staff, families, and community to create a school environment where learning is meaningful, engaging, and rewarding. At Tisdale, we recognize that every child brings unique strengths, interests, talents, and experiences to our school. Our commitment is to know each child as an individual and provide the opportunities, support, and encouragement needed to help every student reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

As one of Ramsey’s two primary schools serving preschool through Grade 3, Tisdale is dedicated to academic excellence within a caring, supportive, and inclusive environment. We believe that strong relationships are the foundation of learning. Through high-quality instruction and developmentally appropriate experiences, we help students build independence, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, responsibility, and the confidence to take ownership of their learning. Just as importantly, we teach children to collaborate, show empathy, respect others, and contribute positively to their community.

Our students’ growth and accomplishments reflect the collective efforts of our exceptional teachers, support staff, families, and community partners. We are committed to continuous improvement, thoughtful instruction, and meeting the diverse needs of our learners. We want every child to experience success, develop a love of learning, and build the skills and confidence to navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Families are essential partners in this work. The strong relationships among our school, parents, PTO, Ramsey Public Education Foundation, and broader community enrich our students’ educational experiences in countless ways. From assembly programs and class trips to classroom volunteering, technology enhancements, and special school activities, these partnerships create meaningful opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom. We are grateful for the time, generosity, and commitment our families contribute to the Tisdale community.

A defining part of Tisdale is our shared belief that we are all members of a community of learners. We intentionally nurture character, independence, and social-emotional growth, helping children learn to work cooperatively, navigate challenges, make thoughtful decisions, and treat others with kindness and respect. We want our students to understand that how we learn matters, and so does how we care for one another.

Open communication and collaboration between home and school are vital to student success. Whether through Meet the Masters, Mystery Readers, Holidays Around the World, or the many other experiences that bring our community together, families help make Tisdale a special place to learn and grow. We welcome your ideas, questions, and partnership as we continue working toward our shared goals for every child.

The preschool, kindergarten, and elementary years lay the foundation for future learning, friendships, confidence, and independence.
