  • MRS. ALTIERO AT DODGE POETRY FESTIVAL
    Altiero

In October, Newark's vibrant downtown Arts District was the site of the the biennial Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival with over 50 internationally and nationally renowned poets. The Festival is neither an academic symposium nor a writing conference. Through a wide range of poetry readings, storytelling sessions, and musical performances, participants are invited to spend four days immersed in our most ancient arts. One day is reserved for high school students to attend. This day also meets specific Common Core State Standards. This festival is a passion of Mrs. Altiero's and she was thrilled to be included as one of the staff members interviewed.  Watch the video (the featured segment begins at 14:35 on the counter).

The AP Scholar also recognizes higher levels of achievement based on the average AP score on all exams taken by a given student. National AP Scholars received a 4 on all AP exams taken. • SCHOLASTIC R
    Scholastic R
The keynote speaker for the 56th Annual Scholastic R award was Marissa Matteo, a 2001 RHS graduate.   Ms. Matteo attended Boston College, UCLA and the University of Miami.  Ms. Matteo delivered an exceptional speech chronicling her learning experiences at Ramsey High School where in her freshman year she tried something new by joining the cross country team and proceeded to get lost during her first race.  She shared that this attitude of trying new things and working to overcome obstacles will lead to success.  This attitude and approach has enabled her to become a New York Times Best Selling Author.
