Juniors Alexander Kwon and Sabrina Casevechia represented Ramsey High School and the State of Tennessee at a Model Congress event at Ridgewood High School on May 31st.  The event was hosted by Representative Scott Garrett and his staff.  40 high school students from 20 different schools worked in Committees before meeting as a full House to debate two bills that are currently on the floor of the House of Representatives.  The experience taught students about the complexities and process of passing a bill.  The students were commended by Congressman Garrett not only for their impressive debating skills, but for getting one of the bills passed, which he jokingly stated gave the Model Congress a much higher success rate than that of the real Congress.
