    Ramsey is a community that comes together to cheer for success and to celebrate triumphs.  We also huddle together to take on challenges and to support those in need. On April  4th,  Amber Latkowski, one of our 12th grade students, died suddenly. To read more about Amber and to donate to the Memorial Fund set up in her honor, click here. Those who may want to help with meal donations, click here and enter username Latkowski,   password, Amber.

  • Chinese Competition
     
    Congratulations to Ramsey High School Chinese students, Matt Bonan, Alex Kwon and Michael McGuirk, for winning 2nd place in the Fourth Annual Chinese Language Competition hosted by the Confucius Institute at the Rutgers University on Saturday April 5th. They competed against 9 other NJ high schools in listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese language.

  • Disney
    Members of the RHS Drama Club and Drama Workshop Class recently visited Disney World February 14-17. The students observed and critiqued various productions and performances around all four theme parks. In addition, students met with Miss Jenny Berry, Director of Special Events for the Disney Hollywood studios, who spoke about production and technical opportunities throughout the parks, audition techniques, and what it takes to be a part of the Disney culture.   • Heather Wong
     
    Heather Wong, a freshman at Ramsey High School, won the 100 yd breaststroke by a time of 1:06.58, soundly beating the county meet record of 1:08.68 in the Bergen County Meet of Champions on Sunday, January 19, 2014. This will automatically qualify her to be the First Team All-County winner for the 2014 NJSIAA Swim league for Bergen County. She is a huge asset to the Ramsey High School Swim team which is coached by Kirsten Lambert and Kelly Hasslinger. She has been swimming year round for the Bergen Barracudas of Mahwah, New Jersey for the last five years.

  • Poetry Winners
    Poetry out loud is a national poetry recitation contest. Students from Mrs. Altiero, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. Rodriguez and Dr. Moore's classes competed in a class competition. The top winners moved on to the school-wide competition which took place in January. The winners are: 1st place- Julia Scott, 2nd place- Veronica Klenk, 3rd place- Tara Lellos. Julia will represent Ramsey High School in the regional competition on Feb. 10th at the Bergen PAC Theater in Englewood.     "Big Blue", Ramsey High School's marching band, travelled to England over the Holiday break to perform,   at the request of the Lord Mayor of Westminster, in London's New Year's Day Parade. The parade regularly attracts more than 500,000 spectators on the streets and is broadcast live around the World.  Watch their outstanding performance! More...

Please submit a poem short story or essay about overcoming obstacles to the Writing Center or your English teacher. 
 
 
 
The Senior Scholarship applications are now available. For a full description of all scholarships, please go the RHS - Guidance Department website. Some scholarships may direct you to pick up a separate application from a specific staff member. Please remember to do so!  If the separate application is not completed and returned, you have not applied.
 
To apply for a scholarship, sign into Naviance - Family Connections - About Me. You will see "View All Surveys" on the left, then click on the Senior Scholarships. When finished...remember to click the "Save and I am finished" button. 
 
 
All applications must be submitted online in Naviance by the May 1st deadline! If you have any questions, please stop by Guidance. 
 
   
 
 
Any student interested in becoming a DARE role model, please see Mrs. Schou for an application. Put all applications in Mrs. Schou's mailbox. All applications are due tomorrow. 
 
 
 
All juniors who plan to take the SAT in June:
 
The SAT classes will begin on Monday, April 28th. Students lists are posted outside of Room 208 and Room 225.
 
Group A should report to Room 208 and Group B should report to Room 225 on Monday.
 
If you would like to join the class, but have not registered, please see Mrs. Sousa or Mr. Tavalocci as soon as possible.
