* by providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing,
and using ideas and information
* by working with other educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of
individual students.

Information about our Media Center

*Our library is fully automated with the Follett Destiny Library Program which assists our patrons to locate materials easily.

*All students are scheduled to visit the media center with their class once a week and an average of 1000 books are checked out weekly. Students are welcome at any other time with the permission of their teacher and providing there is a volunteer to assist when classes are in session.

*We have 6 computer laptops for students to use to locate library materials using the Destiny Online Public Access Catalog as well as for research and word processing. Research is accessible via the internet (with parental permission and teacher guidance), two on-line encyclopedias, atlases, CD ROMs, EBSCO and a variety of software programs. The ultimate aim of our program is to have students leave Hubbard School with a love of reading and the necessary skills to locate information.
