World Book Online

(Tech Tip)

This year the district has moved from the CD version of World Book to the online version. 

The online version is accessible from within the district through a link on the Intranet page or at www.worldbookonline.com. 

This resource can also be used at home by students and parents at www.worldbookonline.com with the login name  and password.  Contact the library media center for login information.

World Book On-Line includes the following:

P        Over 12,000 pictures and maps

P        10,000 sounds, including pronunciations

P        More than 100 videos and animations

P        More than 100 panoramic 360 views

P        Links to selections from more than 100 important periodicals

P        More than 7,000 links to editor-approved web sites

P        Ability to print entire article or only a section of an article

P        “Surf the Ages” provides simulated websites as they might have been if the    World Wide Web had existed throughout history

P        Daily updates in Behind the Headlines

P        New optional interface for younger users
