Hello Everyone! My name is Jeremy Maritt & I am the Physical Education & Health teacher for Tisdale School. I am one of the luckiest people being that I LOVE my job and have the BEST students & colleagues! My overall philosophy is very simple; help every student to recognize and surpass their highest potential. My physical education class is about teaching to the entire student. I strive to have your children use their brain muscles just as much as they workout their real muscles. My main focus in class is based on three main items: Safety, Sportsmanship, Try Your Best. From there the possibilities are endless!!! The challenges and games I work on with my students focus on devloping a 21st century learner. These challenges focus on devloping and building social skills, critical thinking skills, team-building, and over-coming challenges. I also try to add in cross-curricular material whenever possible. For example in our Thunder & Lightning warm-up game, I have my students use word recognition and their reading skills to understand the skill and execute it accordingly. I also have various activities that include counting, spelling, and color variations.
